Amazing Ages

There's a 70 years gap between them...

Grandma and Wang Xiaoyan

This 2007 Chinese New Year as usual there were the family reunions. And we could see side by side Grandma and Tammy. Grandma with 96 pages turned in the book of life, being born in 1910. And Tammy a product of the 80s, 1980 to be exact. And a gap of 70 years between them. Grandma surprisingly is witty, very lucid, with good memory although the age. And quite forward thinking for someone born in 1910. One wonders what someone that walked this earth for so long have witnessed and experienced. Having passing through at least three forms of government, been through revolutionary times in China. Seeing loved ones go away and seeing grand-grandchildren try the first steps. Seeing the change in culture and environment. And still able to cope with the fast pace of change of the 21st century.

Can we see traces of kinship between them? Will Tammy be able to go as far as Grandma? Who knows, carpe diem...
